Our Programs
What we do -
- Provide educational support and training for each child through sponsorship. Education gives children a sense of worth, hope and an opportunity to improve their quality of life and lead healthier, happier, and independent lives.
- Increase health and nutrition at the orphanage by providing medical and dental programs for the children and staff. PBT began our medical program jointly with the volunteers from the Vietnam Nurse Project (VNP) from the University of San Francisco School of Nursing. Each year nursing volunteers travel with PBT to visit St. An’s to give the children their annual physical exams. The annual exams allow us to monitor their growth and development to ensure the children are meeting their developmental milestones.
- Promote lifelong healthy behaviors through training activities and strategies for improving the health of the children and staff.
- Team with the local dentist, Dr. Minh to provide annual dental exams and cleanings, 3M fluoride treatments (donated annually by 3M Corporation), and other dental services as required.
- Provide access to safe, clean water by installing a clean water system at the orphanage.
- Assist with infrastructure improvements - housing and facility upgrades.
